Charities

Willie Creek Pearls strives to make a positive and meaningful impact on the Western Australian community, and has been actively involved in arts, sport and youth social development in communities over the last 20 years.

One way it has achieved this is through community sponsorship. The Willie Creek Pearls Group welcomes submissions from community groups and organisations who are seeking sponsorship support for special projects, activities or events. The Willie Creek Pearls Sponsorship Committee has been established to consider applications for direct or in-kind sponsorship requests and is responsible for requests for donations from recognised sporting, educational, cultural and service groups in the local community. Willie Creek Pearls receives a large number of requests every year and preference is given to groups that align with our company values and especially those of relevance to the Willie Creek Pearls employees and their families.

Willie Creek Pearls retains absolute discretion over all sponsorship decisions. In 2011 Willie Creek Pearls will be generously supporting the following charities;

Kyle Andrews Foundation

Willie Creek Pearls have been a proud sponsor of The Kyle Andrews Foundation since its inception in 1998. The Kyle Andrews Foundation is a legacy to a brave young man, Kyle Andrews from Broome, who lost his battle with cancer at the age of 11. His dream was to bring some of his young friends from Ward 3B at Princess Margaret Hospital to Broome so that, in his own words, “they might feel better”. Kyle’s Camp 98 was organized and the camp proved such a wonderful and enriching experience that it was determined it be made an annual event.

The Heart Foundation “Go Red For Women”

The Heart Foundation’s Go Red for Women campaign, aims to unite women in the fight against heart disease by helping to raise awareness of their risks and promoting healthier choices.

Willie Creek Pearls’ is supporting West Australian women in their fight against Heart disease by partnering with the Heart Foundation’s Go Red for Women events in 2011.

The Heart Foundation is urging women to hold their own fundraising events or join a Heart Foundation event to raise the vital funds for further research in Western Australia.

Over the Top Expedition

The Honda Over The Top Expedition has been developed by Peter Jenkins who has a family history of Prostate Cancer. Peter wanted to do something ‘Over The Top’ to generate funds and awareness on the key preventative actions for Prostate Cancer. So they decided to go ‘Over The Top’ literally… in 8.6 metre rigid inflatable boat (RIB) commonly referred to as a ‘rubber ducky’.

Willie Creek Pearls are supporting this amazing cause by way of raffle prizes to help raise much needed funds and continue research into effective Prostate Cancer detection and treatment and to actively educate and raise awareness of Prostate Cancer.
