Premier officially opens Willie Creek Pearls Showroom

November 18, 2011

The much anticipated Willie Creek Pearls showroom, in the fashionable location of Subiaco, will be officially opened by the Premier Colin Barnett at a lavish event this evening.

The Subiaco showroom, which is Willie Creek Pearls’ second Perth metropolitan based retail outlet to open, highlights the Western Australian company’s focus on continued growth and expansion.

“We at Willie Creek Pearls have always said that anyone can buy and wear pearls, and despite the currently volatile retail environment, the demand for our product continues to be high. A showroom situated in Subiaco provides a prime position to meet this demand and see Willie Creek Pearls become even more accessible to our valued customers,” Mr Maio said.

Commenting on the significance of the Premier’s attendance of the official opening was Willie Creek Pearls Chief Executive Officer Tony Maio.

“We are sincerely honoured that Premier Barnett will officially open our new showroom to the public.

Willie Creek Pearls has been operating in Western Australia since 1989, with both our showrooms and award-winning pearl farm in Broome being a significant contributor to the pearling industry, WA tourism, and fashion. We are thrilled that the Premier has acknowledged our achievements with this opening,” Mr Maio said.

The ‘who’s who’ of Perth on the launch guest list will be among the first to witness the unique features of the showroom and view some of the new designs featured in the 2012 Willie Creek Pearls collection to be released early in the New Year.

“At Willie Creek Pearls our mantra is pearls for everyone every day. The underlying philosophy of the 2012 collection is to provide our customers with a range of pearl designs that inspire people to wear their pearls for every and any occasion,” Mr Maio said.

“Our new collection will also have a stronger emphasis on 18 carat white gold and, of course, predominantly features quality Australian South Sea Cultured Pearls. We’re also looking forward to seeing the reaction to our re-introduction of the 18 carat rose gold range, which is bound to please both our longstanding loyal, and new customers,” Mr Maio said.

Willie Creek Pearls Subiaco is conveniently situated on the corner of Rokeby Road and Hay Street.

Other Willie Creek Pearls showrooms are located at Cable Beach and Chinatown in Broome and Hillarys Boat Harbour, Sorrento Quay in Perth. Willie Creek Pearl Farm is located in Broome.

Pearlers Pale Ale from Matso’s Broome Brewery

October 6, 2011

Matsos Broome Brewery responsible for a large profile of award winning craft beers with unique flavour profiles such as Mango and Ginger have done it again, with the much awaited release of their new Pearlers Pale Ale.

The Pearlers Pale Ale being the fifth product bottled is a tribute to Broome and its illustrious pearling industry, the beer has already been selling off the shelves through the Brewery and is set to go on sale through WA liquor outlets from the 1st of October.

“ Initially we were looking for a typical Australian style pale ale, but evolution took it one step further and created a beer with citrus over tones, a floral fragrance on the nose and a nice low level of bitterness made for sessionalbility. “ Head Brewer Marcus Muller said.

The Matso’s Marketing team saw the opportunity to partner with Willie Creek Pearls, one of Broome’s most renowned pearling companies in a point of sale promotion blended with new edge digital media and are expecting big results.

The campaign will see life size pearl divers and other point of sale directing customers to purchase the new beer and in doing so go in the draw to win a trip to Broome Western Australia inclusive of a $5,000 Willie Creek pearl.

Adding to the hype every bottle has been individually coded to enable entrants to enter it on the website and find their own “pearl experience” in every bottle.

Codes entered on competition site matsos.com.au/pearlers are used to select one grand prize winner and a collection of runner up prizes from over 144,000 stubbies produced.

The amazing 1st prize consists of return economy airfares for 4 people to Broome, on arrival the winners will check in for four nights at Moonlight Bay Suites with breakfast daily at the brewery.

They will have a VIP lunch with the head brewer and learn all about the beer and history of the brewery after lunch they will fly via helicopter to Willie Creek Pearl Farm during which time the winner will select a piece of pearl jewellery to the value of $5,000.

With a prize such as this all the team at Matso’s don’t predict a long shelf life for the first round of Pearlers Pale ale stock.
