What if I don’t like the pearl I harvest?
If the pearl harvested is valued between $500 AUD and $3,000 AUD, you can exchange it for a jewellery gift card of equal value. If the pearl is valued at under $500 AUD, you can exchange it for a $500 AUD jewellery gift card. If the pearl is valued at over $3,000 AUD, you can exchange it for a $3,000 AUD jewellery gift card. How long does it take to get my harvested pearl turned into a piece of jewellery? Will it cost extra and how much?
You have the option of taking your loose pearl away in a cage pendant or having your pearl set on a jewellery mount in stock, costing the price of the mount only. We will endeavour to have the piece ready for you as soon as possible, however, can guarantee that it will be completed within three weeks.
Why is there a capped value on the harvested pearl?
The value of the pearl inside an oyster cannot be known until it is harvested, graded and valued. In order to offer this experience at an affordable rate and in a manner that is viable, we place a $3,000 pearl value cap on the $750 experience. Yes, the signature Harvest Your Own Pearl experience is a unique and exciting gift that your loved one will remember for years to come. We offer this experience in a gift-wrapped box or in digital format for easy distribution.
This experience seems too good to be true. What is “the catch”?
As a commercial pearl farm operator, Willie Creek Pearls works hard to bring the full experience – from shell to showroom – to our customers. We pride ourselves on being able to offer this experience by bringing shell from our commercial pearl farm in Broome to the heart of Perth. In order to offer this experience in a manner that is viable, we place a $3,000 pearl value cap and Keshi pearl rule on the $750 experience. These details are outlined in our Terms & Conditions listed below. Those who do not wish to keep their harvested pearl can exchange it for a jewellery gift card per the amounts outlined above, so essentially, this experience offers little “risk” and is a great way for our customers to understand the full journey of the pearl. Harvest Your Own Pearl Terms & Conditions
The Terms and Conditions in place as part of the Harvest Your Own Pearl experience enables Willie Creek Pearls to offer this unique opportunity to the general public. Customers who partake in Willie Creek Pearls’ Harvest Your Own Pearl experience are bound by the Terms and Conditions outlined below.
As part of the Harvest Your Own Pearl experience, guests are given an opportunity to harvest their own Australian South Sea Pearl straight from a Pinctada maxima oyster. Due to the unpredictable nature of pearl farming, the value of the pearl cannot be known until the breathtaking moment when the oyster is opened.
Upon valuation of the pearl, customers are bound by the following conditions:
• If the pearl is valued between $500 and $3,000 AUD, it is yours to keep, or to exchange for a gift card of equal value, to put towards jewellery purchases in Willie Creek Pearls’ showrooms.
• If the pearl is valued at over $3,000 AUD, Willie Creek Pearls will retain the pearl and you will receive a $3,000 AUD jewellery gift card.
• If the pearl is valued at under $500 AUD or deemed not of merchantable quality, Willie Creek Pearls will retain the pearl and you will receive a $500 AUD jewellery gift card.
• If a Keshi pearl is harvested, Willie Creek Pearls will retain the pearl and you will receive a gift card per the conditions outlined above.
Willie Creek Pearls reserves the right to retain pearls harvested during the Harvest Your Own Pearl experience. There is a maximum of two attendees per oyster. The oyster harvested is pre-selected in Broome. This experience is not redeemable for cash.
